CUTEK - Colourtones

Colour additive for CUTEK® Extreme CD50 or CUTEK® Wood Preservative.

CUTEK® COLOURTONES

All CUTEK® exterior wood oils are sold as clear, and if applied without an added colourtone they will cause the timber to quickly lighten naturally into a beautiful silver patina on exposure to sunlight and UV.

Recommended usage: one 180ml pot per 5 litres of oil. But you can add less than this or up to twice this amount for your desired depth of tone.


Note:
CUTEK® Extreme CD50 and CUTEK® Wood Preservative diffuse deeply into timber and will continue to provide moisture protection and improve dimensional stability even if the CUTEK® Colourtones are not added and the wood becomes weathered and grey.

If you would like to retain the natural freshly oiled colour of the timber you’re working with, you MUST add a suitable Colourtone to the clear oil. Choose one of our 16 Colourtones which have been specifically developed to closely match many popular wood species.

For best results, select a Colourtone that stays close to the natural shade of the coated timber.

Important:
CUTEK® Colourtones are only to be used with CUTEK® Extreme CD50 and CUTEK® Wood Preservative. CUTEK® Colourtones are not compatible with and must not be mixed into CUTEK® Interior or any third-party product.

Colour Accuracy: The colour, species, age and condition of the timber to be coated will impact the final colour and finish of all timber treatment products. The colours swatches on the website are from the relevant manufactueres and are to be viewed only as a guide of the colour and finish that can be achieved. Always test on a small area or off-cut for colour suitability before use.

The merbau deck

Original deck treatment was Aquadeck which is a terrible product. After removal we’ve treated the deck with Cutek and the finish and durability is very much improved. Easy to use and very effective.
